Over the last couple of weeks we have been talking to students around DJCAD to find out what projects they are working on. In our first week, we visited the Social Digital studios and interviewed 9 product design and interaction design students. After 2 days of Social Digital, we moved onto the Fine Art studio, where we interviewed 10 Fine Artists.
Everyone we interviewed were asked the same questions:
1) Can you tell us about a project you are currently working on?
2) Do you have a link to a blog?
3) A fun dinosaur related question!
We also went to an experience workshop called ‘Hyper Island’, where we were introduced to insights, skills and tools we can apply towards work or study!
We took a break from visiting studios in the second week and decided to give the maker space a visit. We thought it would be a good idea to promote the facilities available in the art school. We thought a fun way to do this that would fit in with our character would be to 3D print Baxter a hat. We got a great response from people on Facebook – some good and some bad! While we were in the maker space we also took the chance to interview 2 students we found there.
We found that posting consistently from 2pm – 6pm gains the best response from our followers.
We also found that the majority of our followers is women, with a 70/30 split, the majority of them between the ages of 18-24. We try to keep the theme of the content posted consistent with the age demographic of the majority of the viewers.
